S1.E2. Tattoos, Flowers & Love.
On Saturday 14th February we held a collaboration we loved! Valentines Day coincidence? Shrugs
The premise?
As a tattoo studio, we normally operate as appointment only and don't often hold many walk in days where you can just turn up and if an artist has space, you can get a tattoo there and then. We pitched the idea to the artists, we offer a Valentines Day walk in, you could come and get a tattoo from artist designs, based around love obviously, and you receive a completely free bunch of dried flowers from Oscar's Floristry. That was the plan and that's exactly what we did, and it was amazing!
How did we collab?
As with a lot of creatives, things usually happen pretty organically and on a whim, followed by a deadline drive. This was actually pitched to me from Oscar's Floristry and I loved it. As a company, their values and standards mirrored ours as as studio and I think collaborating with people who sing the same note, is a recipe for great things. The artists in the studio all had the same enthusiasm and were super up for the idea. They got their creative on, myself and Oscar's Floristry nailed down some logistics and then before you know it, the day was here, ready, prepped and the studio dressed up all pretty, looking just the right amount of tacky for Valentines Day. Valentines Day
The day was a blast and I want to thank everyone that put in the effort and to all the clients that showed up. Oscar's Floristry went above and beyond what I was anticipating, the free (yes, free!) bunches of dried flowers they provided where so amazing and way more than I was expecting! Their attention to detail in their product, presentation and just all round care absolutely shone. Tiny heart paperclips holding onto their care card pretty much gives you the vibe. The artists all smashed it, kicking out some super cool themed tattoos all in their own unique styles. To our clients that rocked up and kept the feel good energy all day, a massive thank you, we hope you loved your day as much as we did hosting you.
How to recover from the post Valentines Day blues?
As a studio we will have more walk in days in the future so keep an eye on our socials or sign up to our newsletter for info first, directly to your inbox. They might not always be themed walk in days but always an opportunity to get a tattoo without booking ahead of time. Me personally, I highly recommend listening to as much Childish Gambino as you can, this is playing currently as I write this and I think it's a remedy to most, if not all, ailments, especially the blues. Side note, I'm not a medical professional, this might be incorrect but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure we will have more things happening with Oscar's Floristry again in the future so keep a look out for that too. In the mean time, keep having cool tattoo ideas, keep buying cool flowers from cool companies and just being cool people. Cool cool cool.
